Recall of all Bonify non-medical cannabis
Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries advises all consumers who have purchased non-medical cannabis under the Bonify brand to return the product to place of purchase. This recall applies to all Bonify products, which were available at licensed retailers throughout the province.
Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries and the Liquor, Gaming & Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) have learned that unregulated, unlicensed cannabis entered the supply chain through Manitoba producer, Bonify.
While we have no indication at this time that any of this cannabis made it to retail in Manitoba, we are taking measures to protect Manitobans by advising consumers to return any non-medical cannabis product with the word or logo “Bonify” on the packaging.
Sale and distribution of all Bonify products in Manitoba are suspended. Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries has delisted all Bonify products and removed them from the current product catalogue that is used by retailers when placing orders.
The Liquor, Gaming & Cannabis Authority (LGCA), which licenses cannabis retailers in the province, has seized all Bonify products that were in stock at those retailers. Bonify produces non-medical cannabis under license by Health Canada.
Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries is aware that Health Canada is conducting an investigation of Bonify Medical Cannabis. We are in communication with Health Canada to ensure that any resulting issues for Manitobans are resolved. There have not been any reported ill effects associated with Bonify cannabis sold at retail.
