Blue Bombers Betting Favourites for 111th Grey Cup
Winnipeg favoured by 9 points to win this Sunday in Vancouver
November 14, 2024, Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are entering Grey Cup week in Vancouver as heavy favourites on PlayNow over the injured Toronto Argonauts. A win on Sunday would be the Blue Bombers’ third Grey Cup title in five seasons.
While the Bombers were the top team in the West Division, it’s also what’s happening on the other side of the field that makes them 9-point favourites against the Argos. Toronto’s starting quarterback Chad Kelly was injured in the East Division final against Montreal, thrusting back-up QB Nick Arbuckle into the spotlight and starting position on Sunday.
A successful $10 wager on the shorthanded Argonauts (3.95) would pay out a total of $39.50, while a winning $10 bet on the Bombers (1.27) would pay out $12.70. PlayNow players can also wager on dozens of other bets including what team will win the coin toss, and first team to score.
Winnipeg’s chances of success hinge largely on quarterback Zach Collaros, who will be starting in his sixth Grey Cup, aiming to collect a fourth championship. The Bombers also boast running back Brady Oliveira, who was again nominated as the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player.
Though Toronto are the betting underdogs, never in CFL history has Toronto lost to Winnipeg in the championship game. The two teams last met in the Grey Cup in 2022, when the Argonauts narrowly defeated the Blue Bombers 24-23.
