Doug Ramsey - Director

Doug Ramsey has been a faculty member in the Department of Rural Development at Brandon University for almost 25 years. His peers acknowledge him as a collaborative and community-engaged researcher focusing on rural regions, small towns, and regional cities. 

Dr. Ramsey has published widely and has held research grants every year of his employment at Brandon University. He is most proud of his work as founding editor of the Journal of Rural and Community Development, in which he has received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council for more than a decade.

His past service experience includes board membership on Travel Manitoba, Brandon’s Keystone Centre, and the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation. At Brandon University, Dr. Ramsey has held many service positions.
